What are Ball Valves?
Ball Valves are mechanical devices that are designed and attached to a piping system to control its flow. Inside the body of the valve, there is a small ball that is hollow; hence the name Ball Valve. The nature of the functionality of this valve depends on the opening of the valve. Hence, when the handle is parallel to the flow the valve is completely open. However, when the handle is perpendicular to the flow then it is totally closed.
Principles of a Ball Valve
A ball valve has a similar structure and functions to a plug valve, a rotary valve. Everything functions either manually, pneumatic forces and electric. The hollowed ball is secure safely within the walls of the valve. On top of the valve is a handle (see the photo on the left). As mentioned before, when the handle is moved 90 degrees affects the opening and closing of the flow of substances such as water, oil, steam, pneumatic, chemical production.
